Eli L. Jerome,

Eli L. Jerome, 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away January 18, 2006, . He was born in International Falls, MN January 25, 1918 and had lived in South Bend since 1968. His wife of 63 years, Dolly Frances Jerome had passed away six weeks before on 11/28/05. He is survived by a brother,two daughters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He retired after 25 years of service with the FAA. He was also a retired Air Force major.

 Eli came to the South Bend GADO in 1968 as office chief. He retired from the SBN FSDO in 1980.  Del Heiter, who supplied this information, believes he first went to work for FAA at Minneapolis, then after a short time in the Chicago area office, he went to Indianapolis GADO as an operations inspector and then to the South Bend GADO. During the "50s" he was an instructor in and around the Malden, MO area.
