Alfred E. Hughes

Al was born May 15, 1949, and passed on March 22, 2007.   He was an avionics inspector in the Lincoln, Nebraska, FSDO

until his transfer to AFS-300 in 1993.  Prior to joining the FAA, he worked for King Radio as a Technical Representative.

He held a Commercial Pilot certificate and a Dispatcher certificate.

Although born in Indianapolis and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, he considered Lincoln his home.  With a friendly outgoing

nature, he was known for his attire -- western shirts and boots.

Al also married a member of the Flight Standards family.  He met his wife, Susan Yagoda, in 1983 at the FAA's Management

Training School in Lawton, Oklahoma.  They later met again at the Compliance for the 90's seminar in Denver and they were

married in 1993.

In addition to Susan, Al is survived by his daughters, Carita and Kendra.  In June 2007, Kendra completed Flight Attendant

Training for ExpressJet.  As Susan says, she has joined the family business.
